Which GPS system is better: the NAVIGON 2100 Portable GPS or the TomTom ONE 3rd Edition?
I have been researching GPS systems for my car, and the most popular are the Navigon 2100 and the TomTom One 3rd Edition.
I have the TomTom one 3rd edition. So far, no problems whatsoever. It is very accurate. I did almost buy the Navigon, however, because its a new brand, I didn’t want to buy it because I am always wary of brand new Brands. The only reason I even considered it was because of …

What is difference between CAR gps and trekking GPS

What is the difference between CAR and trekking GPS? the main difference is the power source and the software that is loaded. Since a person will have to carry it, the portable GPS will typically be smaller and lighter.
Regarding software, Car units will be more likely to have better information on roads, addresses, attractions etc while the hiking …

how to set civilian GPS receiver clock

9 Sep 2008 | by Barton, in car GPS, cell phone GPS, gps questions

How does a civilian GPS receiver accurately set its clock? Where is there a good gps receiver description online? how most gps receivers can calculate the correct time? I’m also interested how a gps receiver can discriminate satellites’ C/A trains with multiple radios when all satellites are transmitting at the same frequency? Wouldn’t all the radios (like on a 12-radio GPS receiver) be listening to exactly the same thing? Seems like they’d all be stepping on themselves and not be separable.
Most gps receiver electronics have manuals/directions on their websites. …

8 Sep 2008 | by Goldie, in car GPS

what’s a good third party GPS system/mount for a 2008 Lexus IS? what would be a good in dash gps navigation unit? I would suggest either Pioneer or Eclipse gps system. You will need an install kit that fits into the space for the radio and has a double DIN opening. Such kits are available for most cars on the market and you can try to find it on eBay, etc. If there is no such kit available for your car and you don’t mind paying the money …

lexus gps system manufacturer

8 Sep 2008 | by Goldie, in car GPS

The Lexus Navigation system (GPS is made by Denso – a Japanese firm, as i know. They manufacture many good gps navigations systems in terms of reliability, accuracy, ease of use and quality.
The modern Lexus GPS Navigation systems are touch screen and many are voice recognition. You’ll find that the most difficult part of using a navigation system is the interface. Touch screen and voice recognition make this process very easy. Joystick models are difficult to use and typically take more time to enter information. The BMW I-Drive is a …
