How to Clean GPS Antenna

24 Jul 2009 | by Fleta

How to . we can remove GPS Antenna Oxidation to improve GPS signal. for example if we install an permanent mounted GPS antenna on boat, the male connector from the antenna oxidizes over time and the connection to the unit, sometimes, does not conduct the antenna info. so a can of brake and electrical contact cleaner will work wonders. you can pick one up for about 6 bucks at your local auto parts store. spray it on and let it sit for a couple minutes then wipe it off. silicon based sprays work well to protect the contacts. i use a product called fluid film. it does not effect the contacts or signal strength.
