Need info on purchasing a handheld GPS which is applicable for aviation and finding way out of the woods.I have checked out Garmin, Lowrance, and Magellan. Lowrance has the Airmap 600c which is the closest for aviation purposes, and price range, but I couldn’t get any good info for the terrestrial use, if it even has any, for that particular model. What is a good handheld GPS for around $200?I was really looking at the Magellan Explorist 500. If anyone has a thought on this let me know.If you want my honest opinion. The Magellan is probably the best easy to use and easy to maintain. I’ve dropped so many magellan in my car, I’m surprised it hasn’t broken yet.
