Does Magellan explorist 300 GPS device work in Mumbai,India? ARE MAGELLAN GPS DEVICES BETTER OR GARMIN ?
All GPS’s will work everywhere. However the base map loaded on the GPS is usually dependant on where you bought it. Most GPS from America will have a base Americas map with high level roads etc. Without a good base map for your area your GPS is not going to be very useful as you wont be able to glance at it and know where you are in relation to ground fatures. You …

Where can I get map software Australia for a Magellan handheld GPS

30 Sep 2008 | by Fleta, in Lowrance

Where can I get map software  Australia  for a Magellan handheld GPS? my fiend has a Magellan handheld GPS. He is having trouble getting suitable map software for motorbike riding in the Victorian State Forrest. He needs to have bush tracks, creeks, rivers and location of mountains etc. Any ideas of where to lo would be great.
I take it you don’t want to buy the software? The ‘Discover Aus Streets and Tracks” is very good, but unfortunately only a few cents short of $400.

experience with the Magellan Maestro 3225 GPS.
I understand it is a Costco exclusive so I can’t find many reviews. How user friendly is it? Any thing in particular you like/don’t like about it? http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic .The 3225 is an awesome unit. It is so easy to use you can’t screw it up. I just bought it at Costco last weekend and I love it.

Magellan GPS tracker

29 Sep 2008 | by Fleta, in Lowrance

Magellan Maestro 3100 GPS tracker yesterday. I noticed on the box it tells you were resturants are when you drive past them. It does it for gas stations and banks but not for resturants. Does it have to be programed to show up resturants on the map as well?
The restaurants have to be recognized as a “point of interest” by the Magellan. The 3100 comes pre-loaded with fewer POI than other devices (compared to other, more expensive Magellan and Garmin units for example). It is quite possible …
