Which GPS is the best Garmin, Tom tom, or Magellan? older hand held Magellan, and a new TomTom ONE car device. I’m not too happy with the Magellan because of tiny cracks that formed in the case which means it is no longer waterproof (I use it in my boat). This was a common problem with the SportTrak Map, but I didn’t notice it until it was out of warranty. I will replace it with a Garmin that can handle the navigation charts.

The TomTom ONE is perfect for me. It was the only one I could find that would allow advance planning from any point to any point, not just from the current GPS fix to any point. It also has a great PC interface that allows the user to manipulate the device with a PC keyboard, mouse and monitor. It’s easier to manipulate favourites and plan itineraries using a PC.
garmin and a magellan and I prefer the garmin. It is just easier to use for me. I dont know anything about the tom tom or what software it uses.
